Our annual Kids "Catch-A-Trout" Day is always held in July, when the weather is fabulous and the fish are biting at Chapman Creek Hatchery.
This year's event was on Saturday, July 09, 2011 from 10:00 am til 3:30 pm, down at the Hatchery. Over 200 children attended and caught their own trout.
For $10.00 each, kids had fun fishing, catching & keeping two trout, had their faces painted, enjoyed a hot dog lunch - some even had veggie dogs - along with juice, water or a soft drink. (An adult menu is always for everyone for a nominal fee.)
Children and adults sang and danced to the Karaoke music by Vocal Motion and finished the day with taking home their trout, a helium baloon and a McDonalds coupon. None of this would be possible without the generosity of our many local community Sponsors.
All in all it was a fun day for everyone especially those who remain 'a kid at heart'.

Throughout the Summer & early Fall season children are welcome to come down and continue to catch their own trout between 10am & 3pm, Monday thru Saturday. There is always someone around who can give the young ones a few tips on how to fish.
We will also net a trout, or two, for Mom & Dad...a great BBQ treat.
Everyone is welcome to tour the hatchery during the daytime. This Fall the Creek is providing everyone with an opportunity to see the salmon returning to spawn.
Both the hatchery and gift-shop are open between 10am - 4pm, Monday to Saturday.
