Four species of Pacific salmon are raised by the Society, mainly at the Chapman Creek hatchery: coho, chinook, pink, and chum. The numbers of coho released are determined by Fisheries and Oceans Canada. The numbers of pink and chum are limited by broodstock collection and the numbers of Chinook are limited by warm water tank capacity. 295,800 salmon were released in 2009 to locations determined by FOC: Chapman Creek, Halfmoon Bay and McLean Bay. Gibsons Harbour is slated to receive pinks again in 2010. The Society has a cooperative agreement with the Sechelt Nation to rear pink and coho salmon at the Chapman Creek hatchery for imprinting and release into McLean Bay. Cutthroat trout are also raised for release into Sunshine Coast lakes in partnership with the Freshwater Fisheries Society. This partnership also includes the steelhead enhancement program for Chapman Creek.
