14th Annual Dinner & Auction - April 09, 2011

This year's Salmon Dinner and Auction was held on Saturday, April 09, 2011 at the Seniors' Activity Centre in Sechelt, B.C.  Attended by a sold out crowd, the enthusiasm generated produced what is believed to be "the best ever" fundraising event for the Hatchery.

Dessert time

The generousity of our sponsors and donors, aided by the hard work of our fablulous volunteers, created a wonderful event. All the proceeds raised are dedicated to continuing to build local salmon and trout stock through funding the operations of the Chapman Creek Hatchery. Special thanks to Grieg Seafood for providing the salmon, and a set of finely crafted, sterling silver Salish inspired, salad serving impliments which sold at the silent auction.

MC handing out more prizes

Master of Ceremony, Jamie Fleming, made sure the night's festivities produced many happy prize winners, and smiles all around as people bid for both silent auction and live auction items.

Frank Jorgensen was on hand to present the Grand Prize, of diamond stud earrings. Frank, along with Alfie Hammond, of Hammond Jewellers, in Maple Ridge B.C., have been responsible for supplying the diamond jewellery that our lucky attendees have been winning for many years. We at SCSES all applaud their generous support of the Sunshine Coast salmon population.

Happy grand prize winner gives Frank a big hug for the beautiful diamond earrings.

Safe to say, a good time was had by all. Next year, we hope you can join us and enjoy everything first hand.
